Meet the team: Blind, Deaf, and Mute monkeys

Welcome to the BOMBANANA! Guide

New to the van? This guide breaks the game down so your trio stops going BOOM. The core loop is simple to say and brutal to do: three monkeys, one bomb, almost no shared information.

How a run works

  1. Get the game on Steam (PC / Windows) — the demo is free to try.
  2. Invite exactly two friends to a private room. The game needs precisely three players.
  3. Assign roles: one Blind, one Deaf, one Mute. None of you sees, hears, or knows everything.
  4. Agree on a communication protocol before the bomb is live — this is where most teams explode.

The three roles at a glance

  • Blind Monkey — the only one who can physically touch and defuse the bomb, but cannot see colors or the screen.
  • Deaf Monkey — can see and speak, but cannot hear. Relays visual info aloud.
  • Mute Monkey — holds the manual, cannot speak, communicates only through gestures.

The classic information chain is Mute → Deaf → Blind: the Mute points at the manual, the Deaf reads it aloud, the Blind acts.

Communication tips

  • Build a standardized callout system (positions, colors, numbers).
  • Use a stop word everyone respects when something looks wrong.
  • Many groups run Discord voice chat as a supplement, since in-game voice is limited.
